Cultural experiences and funny musings by two twenty-somethings living abroad

About

About Hmsies:

This is a blog that was created when we were living in Munich as Erasmus students and have kept up ever since. Over the course of the years, we had many interesting experiences which we wanted to share with others!

We draw our inspiration from the world of politics, culture, entertainment and travel and we try and inject a bit of humour in these posts as well as our own personal experiences.

On this blog you can find out a little more about our funny experiences, for example how Jasper went to a German sauna for the first time and lived to tell the tale or how Olesya went hiking in the Alps with very low levels of fitness or even how Hmsies came together for a reunion in Brighton, trying to get healthy during the summer. Now we are both doing our Master’s and will update you more on the ins and outs of student life abroad!

If you want to know a bit more about us, read on…

Olesya:

Hola amigos! So, I have long been passionate about languages and travel, and have now lived in Germany, France and my current home (the Netherlands). I love experiencing new things and getting to know new places. Who knows where it will be next?

However, for now I am currently living amongst the Dutchies, having finished my Master’s in Global Communication. When I am not promoting how awesome it is so study/work abroad, I enjoy meditating, hiking and Pilates.

Hope you enjoy the blog and feel free to stop by and say hi!

Jasper:

Hey all! I’m Jasper, 26 years of age and originally from Brighton, UK. I graduated from Leeds University a few of years ago having done a degree in German and International Relations and did a year abroad in Munich where I now live, doing an MA in Politics. I love all things to do with music, travel and all things current. I’m hoping to keep travelling in the future, as I’ve got a great experience from living abroad, and find new things to blog about and share here!
